On the road
I had a hell of a time driving around in a Dodge Challenger 71" model with retired Airforce Cpt. Joe Kittinger. We went straight to Edwards Airforce Base, Ritchcrest and Palmdale. Finally we've met Bill Weaver who survived an accident with his SR-71 plane at the speed of mach 3.2!!!!! His engine quit at 78thousand feet! The plane stalled immediately, felt apart and he got ripped out of his plane and survived!.... Hard to believe!!
The whole trip was surrounded by the BBC. here are some impressions!!

...arriving at Edwards AFB. We've seen launching an F16, F22 Raptor a B52 and an B2 Stealth Bomber!!!
...talk and talk and talk! Believe it or not, they never run out of film and they always have ONE more question??!!
...interviews with the BBC at Jawbone Canyon
... Time to chill and having a beer...
... or some more!!:)

Day two, Breakfast @ Tiffany's!!
...arriving at Ridgecrest at 9 pm! Ridgecrest, has a population of 98 peole!!!
... they have an old prison there...
...but brand new cars!
...finally we've meet Bill Weaver. Great guy and even a greater story!!
..that is so true!!
...they still working on the restrooms but at least it is a start ;-)

BBC filming in London
...London is always a good place to hang out...especially when you have the BBC as your partner! Two days of intense shooting on green screen to make sure the audience will understand what Red Bull Stratos is all about. But as always my trip is in and out and that means no sightseing at all... I hate when that happens!!
Klaus my Manager is always with me on travelling. 8 am at hangar 7, ready to take off
just before touchdown at London Heathrow two hours later
Heide Cohu the RB communication manager is always fired up when we see each other!
...preparing for two days of filming at the Black Island studios
The producer Collin is giving me instructions how to act on the upcoming scene
... foot is always important....
... and also to drink
... two days later back at the airport! check out that sunset...
this is felix baumgartner... stand by!!

... getting closer to my comercial pilot liscence! after sitting in the classroom all day long we thought it is a good idea to land at my private helipad in front of my house...
... and now we're chilling the famous bar called "bumsen" with our famous "baumgartner beer"
